§ 22-10. Banners hung from city utility posts.

Latest version.
  • The following policy shall apply to any group or organization requesting a banner to be hung from utility posts owned by the city:

    (1)

The banner(s) must be hung by city employees. To help defray the costs involved, there will be a charge of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per banner, payable in advance.

    (2)

The group or organization must provide a certificate of insurance for a minimum amount of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) naming the city as an additional insured prior to any banner(s) being hung.

    (3)

The banner(s) will remain hanging for a period of thirty (30) to sixty (60) days, depending on requests from other groups, unless it is damaged at which time it will be immediately removed by city employees. The city will not be responsible for damage to banners while hung from city-owned utility posts, nor will the city assume any responsibility for repair of banners.

    (4)

The city recommends banners be made of vinyl banner cloth which allows movement of air through the banner and puts less stress on the utility posts.

    (5)

The city contact person is the director of public property. All groups or organizations must contact the director of public property to reserve and arrange for banner hanging from city-owned utility posts.
