§ 22-23. Director of department of public works—Office created, appointment, oath, bond.

  • (a)

    There is hereby created the office of the director of the department of public works. The director of the department of public works (hereinafter referred to as the "director") shall be a professional engineer licensed in the state of Illinois and appointed by the mayor, by and with the advice and consent of the majority of the city council.

    (b)

    The director shall receive such compensation as shall be determined by the city council from time to time.

    (c)

    The director shall furnish a bond in such amount and with such surety as may be approved by the city council; such bond shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance of his or her duties. The cost of the bond shall be paid by the city.
