§ 24-58. Change in account information or disconnection.

  • (a)

    Petition to disconnect water service or change account information. Only the person(s) whose name(s) appears on the account shall be allowed to change any account information, request disconnection of service, or request any change of service for that account. If the person making said request is not the account holder, he or she may effectuate the disconnection or change of service, if he or she provides one of the following:

    (1)

    Written and signed permission from the account holder; or

    (2)

    A court decree authorizing the disconnect or change; or

    (3)

    A death certificate for the account holder.

    (b)

    Customers requesting final disconnection of service shall furnish the city utility billing office with a valid forwarding address for the submission of the final bill and/or remaining deposit and a valid phone number.

    (c)

    If a customer's water service is disconnected or shut off due to nonpayment of bills, there will be a charge of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
