§ 2-99. Vacancies.

If a vacancy occurs within the office of mayor or commissioner, the remaining members of the council shall, within thirty (30) days after the vacancy occurs, appoint a person to fill the vacancy for the unexpired term. If there remains an unexpired term of at least twenty-eight (28) months and the vacancy occurs at least one hundred thirty (130) days before the next general municipal election, then the vacancy shall be filled for the remainder of the term at that general municipal election.
