§ 2-281. Finances, revenues and property; books to be kept subject to examination.

  • The city clerk shall keep, in a neat and methodical manner, a complete set of books, in which, among other things, shall be set forth the appropriations of the fiscal year for each distinct object and branch of expenditure, and also the receipts from each and every source of revenue, so far as he can ascertain the same. Such books, and all contracts, bonds, deeds, warrants, vouchers, receipts and other papers kept in his office, shall be subject to examination of the mayor, the city commissioners, or any committee thereof.
