§ 3-1. Installation of billboards, etc., restricted near railroad crossings.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to erect, construct, build, install or establish, (hereinafter referred to as erect) billboards, signboards, street signs or similar structures, (hereinafter referred to as billboards) with a sign surface area of over one (1) square foot, within the corporate limits of the city, without first complying with this section and the provisions set forth in this section.

    (b)

    No billboard shall be erected within fifty (50) feet of any railroad crossing and the erection of any such billboard within fifty (50) feet of any railroad crossing is hereby declared to be a nuisance and dangerous to the public safety.
