§ 5-59. Permit approval and issuance.

  • A special event permit application may be approved and a special event permit issued to the applicant by the Tourism Director upon acknowledgment from every special event committee member that all requirements germane to their respective departments have been successfully met by the applicant. The permit shall be issued a minimum of thirty (30) days prior to the special event date. The tourism director shall notify the city administrator of all special event permits issued pursuant to this article. The tourism director will also notify the County of Effingham if any event is also simultaneously occurring on Effingham County property. If the application requires the closing of a city street, the city council shall consider the request for a street closure after receiving an affirmative recommendation from the tourism director.
