§ 7-31. Registration; fee; bond.

  • Every building contractor or person engaged in the construction, alteration, enlargement, demolition, removal or conversion of buildings and structures for profit in the city shall cause his name, his residence, and his place of business to be registered with the department of building inspection of the city. A fee of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) shall be paid annually to the city. In addition, such person shall give bond to the city in the sum of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) conditioned upon a full indemnity to the city against damage to same or to renewable at intervals of one (1) year, or oftener, in the event of the impairment of the surety. Such bond shall be written by a competent surety company, or may be secured by a deposit of cash, cashier's check, or United States Government securities in the amount of such bond.
