§ 16-137. Controlled parking zones.

  • (a)

    No vehicle shall be parked for any period of time in excess of the time posted on the officially erected sign or legend for the parking space(s) for which it is erected on any street within the corporate boundaries of the city during the hours from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on all days excepting Sundays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas. No vehicle within one hour of the time of leaving a restricted parking space shall be again parked in any portion of either side of the same street between the immediate intersecting streets where parking is also restricted during the effective time thereof. The city engineer shall designate said controlled parking space(s), from time to time, and shall maintain a map thereof.

    (b)

    Fifteen-minute parking.

    (1)

    Banker Street.

    No stopping, standing or parking on the east and west sides of South Banker Street from Section Avenue to Jefferson Avenue in excess of two (2) hours EXCEPT for the first space on each side of South Banker Street north of Section Avenue and for the third space on the east side and for the first space on the west side of South Banker Street south of Jefferson Avenue, which shall be no stopping, standing or parking in excess of fifteen (15) minutes.

    No stopping, standing or parking in excess of two (2) hours on North Banker Street between Jefferson Avenue and St. Anthony Avenue EXCEPT for the first space on west side of North Banker Street, north of Jefferson Avenue, for the first space on west side of North Banker Street, south of Washington Avenue, for the first space on east side of North Banker Street, north of Washington Avenue, for the first space on the east side of North Banker Street, south of alley, between Washington Avenue and St. Anthony Avenue, on the west side of North Banker Street in front of 201 North Banker Street (Effingham Daily News), and for two (2) spaces at 210 North Banker Street located on the east side, north of the alley between Washington Avenue and St. Anthony Avenue, which shall be no stopping, standing or parking in excess of fifteen (15) minutes.

    (2)

    Jefferson Avenue.

    No stopping, standing or parking in excess of fifteen (15) minutes for the first space on the south side of East Jefferson Avenue westerly of Third Street.

    No stopping, standing or parking in excess of two (2) hours on West Jefferson Avenue between Walnut Street and Fourth Street EXCEPT for the first space on the north side of West Jefferson Avenue, west of Main Street, for the first space on the north side of West Jefferson Avenue, west of Merchant Street, for the first space on each side of West Jefferson Avenue, east of Front Street, for the first space on each side of West Jefferson Avenue, east and west of Banker Street, for the first space on each side of West Jefferson Avenue, east and west of Fifth Street, and for the first space on the south side of Jefferson Avenue, east and west of Fourth Street, which shall be no stopping, standing or parking in excess of fifteen (15) minutes.

    No stopping, standing or parking in excess of two (2) hours on East Jefferson Avenue between Fourth Street and Second Street EXCEPT for the first space east of Fourth Street on the south side of Jefferson Avenue, which shall be no stopping, standing or parking in excess of fifteen (15) minutes.

    (c)

    No stopping, standing or parking.

    (1)

    Calico Road.

    No stopping, standing or parking on either side of Calico Road or on either side of the Calico Road Trail for the entire length except at the designated parking location west of Outer Belt West and Calico Road.
