§ 21-29. Residence policy for police officers and telecommunicators.

(a)

All police officers and telecommunicators shall be required to reside within fifteen (15) miles of the corporate limits of the City of Effingham, unless otherwise stated within a collective bargaining unit agreement.

(b)

New police officers, who are required to reside within the City corporate limits, shall be given up to six (6) months to establish permanent residency within the City corporate limits. Collective Bargaining Unit employees shall be governed by the requirements of the said agreement.
