§ 9-17. Emergency management coordinator.

  • (a)

    The emergency management coordinator of the agency created by this article shall be appointed in accordance with section 2-356(f) of this Code, and shall serve until removed in accordance with section 2-234 of this Code.

    (b)

    The emergency management coordinator shall have direct responsibility for the organization, administration, training, and operation of the agency, subject to the direction and control of the mayor as provided by statute.

    (c)

    In the event of the absence, resignation, death, or inability to serve as the emergency management coordinator, the city administrator or any person designated by him, shall be and act as emergency management coordinator until a new appointment is made as provided in this article.
