§ 2-415. Personal days.

  • Full-time employees may take up to sixteen (16) hours as personal leave time per calendar year, without loss of pay or other benefits as identified herein. However, for new employees, in the calendar year of hire, the employee will be eligible for only eight (8) hours for that year if hired on July 1 or after. Employees terminating employment prior to June 30, shall be eligible for only eight (8) hours that year. Personal leave time is granted in minimum units of one (1) hour. Notification of the employee's intent to use personal time must be made at least one (1) day prior to the day desired and must be approved by the department head or his/her designee. Approval for use of personal leave time will not be unreasonably denied. If an employee fails to use personal time in a calendar year in which it was earned, the personal time will be lost.

Ord. No. 106-2018 , § I, adopted Dec. 4, 2018, repealed the former § 2-415, and § II of the ordinance enacted a new section as set out herein. The former § 2-415 pertained to similar subject matter and derived from Ord. No. 72-2011, § I(Exh. A), adopted Dec. 20, 2011.
